Fair doesn’t always mean the same
Giving every student exactly the same task, in exactly the same way, under exactly the same conditions can look fair. But if the design itself creates a barrier, treating everyone the same doesn’t necessarily give everyone a genuine opportunity to show what they know.
This workshop looks at practical accommodations, reasonable adjustments and inclusive assessment through the lens of access, not advantage.

Designing for difference from the beginning
We’ll explore Universal Design for Learning and ways to build flexibility into teaching and assessment before a student reaches the point of struggling.
That might mean thinking differently about how information is presented, how students engage with a task, how they demonstrate learning, or how executive functioning and sensory needs are supported.

Keep the standard. Change the pathway.
Inclusive practice is not about removing challenge or lowering expectations. It’s about being clear about what you’re actually assessing and removing unnecessary barriers around it.
You’ll leave with practical, evidence-informed ways to make learning and assessment more accessible while still protecting the integrity of the learning outcome.
