Description
When there isn’t one simple explanation.
3-Hour Workshop | $75 per person | Perth | Take-Home Resources | Certificate of Attendance
Students don’t arrive in neat categories
Some students have needs that can’t be explained by a single diagnosis, condition or support strategy. Neurodivergence, mental health, emotional wellbeing, previous experiences, learning difficulties and the school environment can all overlap.
When several things are happening at once, it can become difficult to work out what you’re seeing, and even harder to know where to start.
Look at the whole picture
This workshop explores some of the issues that can sit within complex presentations, including burnout, executive dysfunction, rejection sensitive dysphoria, learned helplessness and emotional regulation.
Rather than trying to find one label that explains everything, we’ll use real-life scenarios to consider patterns, competing needs and the different factors that may be influencing a student’s capacity at school.
Respond to the need in front of you
Complex doesn’t have to mean helpless. We’ll look at ways to prioritise what matters, adapt support and respond compassionately without trying to solve every issue at once.
You’ll leave with a stronger framework for making sense of complex student needs and greater confidence deciding what support may be helpful next.
